5th Grade ELA - Mrs. LaFollette

Hello!

I am Laurie LaFollette and I am excited to be a part of an amazing school system, Grant Parish, and school, VERDA ELEMENTARY. This is my twenty - eighth year in the classroom. I will be teaching fifth grade ELA and social studies. I am so excited to be a part of your child’s education. Again we will have to work together as a team: student, teacher and parent, in order to have a successful year.

Outside of teaching, I am married to my husband, Stacey and we have one son, Kaleb. Family is very important to us, and we have always been very close. We, as a family, enjoy many hobbies and activities together. We have cows, horses and goats that take up a lot of our time. We support the sport of rodeo and 4-H tremendously. For these two activities developed our son into the person he is today and made us a much closer family. I also enjoy gardening, working in the yard with my herbs and plants, canning vegetables and making jelly, trying out new recipes, and sewing. Of course being a teacher, I enjoy reading, especially the Bible. I hope this helps you to know me just a little bit better.

Finally, I want to assure you that teaching is my passion, and I am so excited about teaching your child and seeing him/her grow this school year. If I can be of any assistance to you and your child, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

Mrs. LaFollette
